Is all search engine optimization the same? Does it mostly consist of writing bland articles, begging webmasters for links, and hoping something good will happen eventually?
We don’t think so.
At Ciplex, we often share our keys for SEO success in articles and blog posts just like this one. Occasionally, clients read them and want to know why we aren’t more worried about people stealing our formulas?
Just as knowing a gourmet recipe doesn’t mean you can match your favorite chef’s results, much of what we do at Ciplex is a function of experience, attitude, and attention to detail. In other words, it’s not as easy as a lot of people might tell you.
With that being said, here are our three rules for search engine success:
Start on the right foot. All the SEO activity in the world isn’t going to amount to much if you don’t have a good plan to work from. Our clients benefit from a combined decades of experience with Google, Yahoo, and Bing – something you can’t get from an afternoon seminar.
Build constantly. Great content, quality links, and behind-the-scenes improvements to your site are all-important, but they don’t happen overnight. Having an ambitious but achievable plan to add steadily to a site’s SEO and social media profile is incredibly important… and often overlooked.
Test, revise, and relearn. Very, very few SEO plans bring perfect results on the first try; more often, you take some steps in the right direction, learn what’s working, and find areas where you need to continue and improve. At the same time, it’s important to realize that SEO is always changing, as are the major search engines themselves. To get to the top, much less stay there, requires a full-time commitment to search engine optimization and marketing – something lots of companies talk about, but few actually practice.
